A Psychology degree at University of Phoenix® focuses on the general psychology of individuals. The College of Social Sciences offers the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Psychology. These programs are designed in collaboration with experts in the field and are taught by faculty who have years of industry experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology

A bachelor's degree in Psychology provides a strong foundation in general psychology. Studies include the cognitive and affective processes that underlie individual human development and behavior.

Courses offer an enhanced understanding of human psychology for supervisors, managers and other professionals. Students learn skills in communication, critical thinking, collaboration and information utilization. The courses in this program do not have a clinical emphasis and do not lead to professional licensure.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program provides students with a strong foundation in general psychology. Students will gain insight into the cognitive and affective processes that underlie the individual human experience through an analysis of a variety of theoretical approaches related to human development and behavior. The courses in this program do not have a clinical emphasis and do not lead to professional licensure; instead, they are designed to provide students with greater skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and information utilization through the enhanced understanding of human psychology and also include field experience possibilities and research activities throughout the program.

Master's Degrees in Psychology

The master’s degree in Psychology focuses on the scientific study of human behavior, thought processes and emotions rather than the clinical psychological study of individuals. As a student, you will engage in deep discussions involving cognitive and affective processes that underlie human behavior and will gain an understanding in research methodologies.

Master of Science in Psychology

Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial-Organizational Psychology

The program provides professionals in business, marketing, human resources, government services and education with an understanding of the cognitive and affective processes. Coursework includes research methodologies, critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to evaluate the human experience and behavior. Students will learn theoretical principles of inter- and intra-personal issues. Courses do not lead to professional licensure.
